AMD Ryzen 7 5700X – Best gaming processor 2025?

Published by TNS Gaming

Looking for the perfect processor for gaming in 2025? Then the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X is one of the smartest choices. With 8 cores and 16 threads, it offers an optimal balance between performance, temperature, power consumption and price.

Here we go over why the Ryzen 7 5700X is one of the most affordable CPUs for gaming – and when it might be better to choose something more powerful.

Why the Ryzen 7 5700X is perfect for gaming

The Ryzen 7 5700X is built on the Zen 3 architecture, known for high single-core performance – exactly what modern game engines love.

Benefits for gamers:

• 8 cores / 16 threads – perfect for AAA titles, esports and multitasking.
• High clock frequency – provides good FPS even in CPU-heavy games.
• Lower heat and power consumption than heavier CPUs like Threadripper.
• A lot of performance for the money – great for both new and experienced gamers.

Comparison: Ryzen 7 5700X vs Threadripper

Sure, Threadripper has more cores – but for pure gaming, that's often overkill. In fact, the Ryzen 7 5700X:

• Has better performance in most games because they don't utilize 32+ cores.
• Is more energy efficient and cooler – providing quieter cooling.
• Costs significantly less, giving you more budget for a better GPU or faster SSD.

In short: The Ryzen 7 5700X is the smart gamer's choice.

Streaming and multitasking

Are you going to game and stream at the same time? The Ryzen 7 5700X can handle it too – especially when combined with 32GB of RAM and an RTX card, which we offer in several of our computer packages. For simpler video editing and multitasking, this CPU will go a long way.
